Canran Wang Receives the Prestigious 2025 MRS Graduate Student Gold Award

Congratulations to Canran Wang, PhD student in the Wei Gao Research Group, for receiving a 2025 MRS Graduate Student "Gold" Award!  

The Materials Research Society (MRS) recognizes outstanding graduate students whose academic achievements and materials research demonstrate excellence and distinction. These awards honor individuals of exceptional promise, highlighting their potential for future contributions to the field of materials science.

Canran presented at the GSA Finalists Session and was selected as a Gold Winner for her work on a smart bandage that integrates engineered materials with microfluidic sampling and continuous wound analysis. It was validated in both mice model and pilot human study, addressing a critical unmet need in chronic wound management.
